People drink and take drugs for many
reasons, including some people who do so to help them
study. They might say it helps them
focus and stay
alert and
awake longer or have a more
relaxed approach to their study.
Certain drugs such as alcohol, heroin and cannabis can cause poor concentration and confusion making it hard for you to focus. Others such as amphetamines and caffeine are sometimes used to heighten your concentration helping you to focus in the short term. A small amount of alcohol can make you have a more relaxed approach to work/study.
However using drink or drugs for this purpose can result in headaches, mood changes, poor sleeping and eating, and alter your view of the work that you have done. So after a hard night thinking you're doing a briliant essay you can realise the next day what a load of **** you've written.
Some handy tips
Instead of using drugs, to help you study you may want to consider planning your revision time, sleep, eat and exercise well.
If you are using drugs or alcohol make sure you don't overdo it and end up ill or with a habit.
