My looks

Drink and drugs may make people feel happy and confident, and that they belong to a group, but they can have an effect on your looks.  Sometimes people can tell by looking that you've been drinking or taking drugs.

Long term drinking or drug-taking can make you look really ill.

There are many ways in which drink and drugs can affect how you look, some minor, some quite shameful.  For example:

DRINK

  • can make you put on weight
  • guys can grow MAN-BOOBS
  • can give you broken veins, eg on your nose

DRINK AND DRUGS

  • can give you bad skin and hair, and  the dreaded SPOTS
  • make you SMELL
  • can make you look untidy, messy or DIRTY
  • can make you clumsy
  • can make you look stupid
  • can make you be SICK
  • can make you WEE yourself

DOWNERS

  • can make the pupils of your eyes get smaller
  • can make you look relaxed, lazy or sleepy
  • can affect your speech, making it slurred

UPPERS

  • can make your pupils very wide
  • can make your eyes look 'buggy' like they're sticking out
  • can make you chew, and if you have no gum you'll probably chew your mouth
  • can make you look alert, anxious or SCARY
  • can make you talk a lot of rubbish

CIGARETTES can make your skin and hair age (as well as giving you cancer - not a good look)

CANNABIS can make your eyes look drowsy and red, and put on excess weight from always eating junk food with the munchies

COCAINE dissolves flesh, so it can damage to your nose or wherever it enters your body

CRACK can make your eyes 'buggy', make you look very tense, and you can even POO yourself
